What COVID-19 Means for the Casey Cares Community

Posted: Mar 19, 2020

What a surprising few weeks it’s been—and although there is more uncertainty to come, Casey Cares is confident in our ability to continue to support our critically ill children and their families in a way that is safe for everyone. The Casey Cares community is here for one another no matter what. We will get through this together.

While we’re currently unable to organize our typical programs, our team is working very hard to get out hundreds of movie and pizza nights for our families to enjoy at home, and shipping thousands of new pairs of pajamas to hospitals.

We have our supporters to thank for that -- Casey Cares is sincerely grateful for the community of people who continue to help us help our families. That being said, your commitment to Casey Cares Families is critical -- particularly now as requests have increased and the priority is great, as most critically ill children’s immune systems are fragile, and outside activities are minimal if not non-existent at this time.

To answer the big question, we would really love to be able to send a movie and pizza night out to every single Casey Cares family and we're working as fast as we can, but we have prioritized families that have received fewer activities for the time being. At this very minute, we do not have the resources to do everything that we want to do, so we are relying strongly on donations of gift cards so that we an continue to send them out for as long as possible. We are working as hard as we can to meet this huge new need for our families.

Yes, there are continued COVID-19 challenges, but the Casey Cares Foundation is still hard at work and not planning on stopping any time soon. We love our families and we love our Casey Cares Community!

How can you help?
