Before Sophia entered her seventh brain surgery, Casey Cares fulfilled her mother's request to send the family to Hershey Park for the day. They wrote "The trip to Hershey was wonderful! We started big with Tidal Force and then spent a lot of time in the lazy river. Sophia had been looking forward to the lazy river the most and loved it!!! ⁠Sophia’s brother and I had a debate about who was the most excited about the trip. He finally won the debate by saying 'I’m a kid and I’ve never been there so I win!' Sophia kept signing for me to play the video clips of Hershey Park. We watched them repeatedly the entire week before the trip.⁠ I can’t thank Casey Cares and its generous donors enough for providing our first family vacation. Sophia was able to just be a kid and enjoy life in such a magical place before undergoing such a difficult surgery. It means the world to all of us. Liam has cystic fibrosis which makes it difficult for him to breathe.
