Thanksgiving Comes to Casey Cares Families Thanks to the Dolphins

Posted: Dec 9, 2022

Select Florida Casey Cares families were treated to a Thanksgiving turkey thanks to the Miami Dolphins on November 22nd at Gibson Park. The event was part of the Dolphins Challenge Cancer initiative.

Miami Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips distributed Thanksgiving turkey and meal boxes to local critically ill kids while also chatting and talking pictures with them. Thank you to the Miami Dolphins, Dolphins Challenge Cancer, and Jaelan Phillips (just nominated by the Dolphins for the 2022 Walter Payton Man of the Year!) for bringing lasting memories to kids and families who need it the most.

Other beneficiaries and community partners that day included kids from Break the Cycle and Alex's Place, the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center's pediatric hematology-oncology clinic.

Casey Cares is a non-profit that provides little moments and lasting memories for families with critically ill children by organizing family-centric events such as tickets to sporting events, concerts and museums, group parties, birthday surprises, and more! Casey Cares knows that the best palliative care comes from continuous, ongoing support. For families whose faith, relationships, and pocketbooks have been stretched to their breaking points, our programs with a special touch may be the only break many have from hospital stays and doctors' visits. For some, it will be one of the last events they will attend with all members of their family present.
